Leopoldo Miranda is the Assistant Regional Director for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service-Southeast Region. Prior to his current position, he has been a marine biologist in Puerto Rico, a private lands coordinator in Washington D.C., and Supervisor of the Chesapeake Bay Office in Annapolis, Maryland. Mr. Miranda was a Service to America Medal Finalist in recognition of his innovative approaches to develop conservation partnerships. He is also the recipient of the STAR Award for the exceptional dedication and employment of innovative approaches to developing and implementing partnerships. He was recently recognized in the 2012 edition of the Latino American Who’s Who. Mr. Miranda received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master’s Degree from North Carolina State University.
